As people caught up in the busy hustle of the modern day technological world, we sometimes forget that there were Native American peoples here in the Americas before us. In my occupation, I try to understand how those first peoples lived and try to teach others what we know about them. During the first few weeks back to school, we spend time getting reacquainted and catching up from the summer. Students are encouraged to appreciate their own unique likes, interests, talents, and characteristics. They are also encouraged to recognize the value of diversity and that all are valuable and important. These concepts are reinforced through the entire year.
